Before anything else
Always check the care label inside the garment. It is the most accurate guide for that specific piece and fabric.

Washing
Wash with similar colours to prevent dye transfer. Use cold or warm water according to the fabric's care label when in doubt, always choose cold. Hand washing is recommended for delicate or heavily constructed pieces.

Drying
Air dry whenever possible, laying flat or hanging in a well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight. Avoid tumble drying heat can shrink, warp, or weaken the fabric and structure of archival garments.

Ironing
Iron at a low temperature. For delicate fabrics — silk, wool, acetate — always use a protective cloth or pressing cloth between the iron and the garment. Never iron directly over prints, embroideries, or embellishments.

Storage
Store garments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Use padded hangers for structured pieces and fold knitwear flat to avoid stretching. Avoid plastic garment bags opt for breathable cotton covers.

Sun exposure
Prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade colours and weaken fibres, particularly in vintage and archival pieces. Keep your garments away from direct light when not in use.
